Mounting & Shafts
The Cyclo-Index Basic Drive features a compact, two-piece sealed housing with precision ground shafts, antifriction bearings, and oil bath lubrication. Housings are supplied with oil level and base drain plugs, and with oil fill and vent plugs at the top. Standard housings are provided with mounting holes in side no. 3, but can be supplied in any of the other 5 sides. The housing design allows universal mounting; the units can be operated with the shafts in a horizontal, vertical, or inclined position. Oil level, fill, drain, and vent plug locations must be planned to suit.
- Cyclo-Index drive units can be operated in either direction of rotation and function with a precision +/-.001" backlash at a 1 -in. radius at dwell position.
- Direction of rotation of the input shaft is opposite that of the output shaft for basic, alternating, and tandem units.
- For compound and geared Index Drive Units, the direction of rotation is the same for both shafts.
- One set of 4 standard mounting holes is included in the price of each indexer. Additional mounting hole locations can be provided at a nominal added cost.
